Digital Canvassing

Supporting a cause (ideology), politician, or organization (501c3 predominantly) on the internet: clogging up social media and the companies server space. Regardless of the analog format or digital format it all stinks of rotting time and space of unsuspecting. No one really cares about saving the whales or growing organic wheatgrass or going to another person's alma mater in order to support the college to keep the underwater basketweaving program afloat pretending it has a viable career option or worthy investment of your time and/or money.

Hey broh, watch out for that cat who is a mutual acquaintance wants you to join their cause and protest with signatures from the street corner to start digital canvassing for money from suckers. When you see them at the party this weekend don't engage. Abort Abort.

digital exploitation

The exploitation of digital media to unfairly influence the outcome or to create an unjust result. It can be a form of cheating and illicit practices that take advantage of and exploit media users. In some cases, media users are programmed to go viral with misinformation or disinformation. Much like when an arson strikes a match when the conditions are favorable for a wildfire to spread in ways that are most damaging to the environment.

The Russians have learned quickly that they can positively influence the outcome of an election through digital exploitation. much easier than conventional war. Surprisingly they have the help of a large minority of the public who support their candidate right or wrong.

Someone who begs/asks for money utilizing a fake story like becoming sick and needing money for theirs or even a loved ones medical condition/operation as a way of profiting for their own personal gain.

That man made $150K from people who donated to him through his GoFundMe that said he was sick and needed cancer treatments, and come to find out he never even had cancer! Just another example of a Digital Panhandler.
