A person that is a nerd but unlike most nerds does not lack the necessary social skills to interact with non-nerdy people in a nature way.

Bob: Wow Ian is such a nerd.

Alina: Yes but at least he isn't awkward to be around. He's a functional nerd.

The nerd crease happens when a red line on your stomach appears from slouching over a computer desk. This can happen from hours of playing such games as: Minecraft, World Of Warcraft, Runescape, league of legends and various other games.
