Da prior unbreakable promise dat you made to your baseball team dat you'd play catcher at one or more of their scheduled games.

I had to sorrowfully cut short my date wif Tiffany because I had an afternoon committment wif my teammates, but I softened da blow by inviting her to come and sit in da bleachers to watch while I participated in da game, and then afterwards we "picked up where we'd left off" and went for a nice long "sunset stroll" hand-in-hand.
