Their Belk Tower wasn't going to crumble and they didn't want something more active, they thought things were good enough the way they were and wanted a few people to quit fucking with them and go away. Same as the people that got their once beautiful tree canopy removed, their house demolished, their business shuttered, or the playground equipment they once played on as a kid replaced. The one person, place, or thing people wouldn't miss was the wildfire trying to burn and own their hearts and minds.

The Belk Tower was one of many things in this country that didn't really need to get removed.
