post democracy

the term is relatively new. it refers to the current state of (political) affairs in the united states (but probably doesn't preclude the emerging political model in many european countries...). it basically refers to the ever-widening ideological gap that exists between the voters and those receiving the votes. a political model that underscores a voter's influence. this term was coined by gore vidal.

that ours is a post democracy can be evidenced by last month's poor voter turnout.

Post 53

This is the worlds only fully teenager run ambulance corp. It's run by 60 teenagers aged from 14-19. All post 53 members are considered posties. They respond to all accidents situated in darien ct, one of the wealthiest towns in the us. they also respond to a 4 mile stretch on I-95, one of the most deadliest stretches of highway in america. Post 53 is a nonprofit organization where it recieves no funding from the town and is a self raised organization. Post has 3 100,000 dollar ambulances all donated by wealthy business men living in Darien. The students are on duty in shifts for 24 hrs 365 days of the year including holidays. All members take a mandatory EMT class when they're 16.

John: Hey you wanna hang out this weekend.
Lilly: Nope sry i'm on duty in Post 53
John: Great, lilly out saving the world again, i'm breaking up with you
Lilly: fine.

A nap taken after participating in a Carnegie Mellon event called Buggy, where people push 3 wheeled vehicles around at 6-9 am on weekend mornings.
