The opposite of shit-talking. Complimenting or praising people behind their backs, usually friends.
Justin: Dude, I fucking love Chris. That kid is awesome, he's got the sickest accent and he can hang for days.
George: Damn, you hype talk this kid so much, I gotta meet him!
Justin: Hype talking?
George: You know, th opposite of shit talking!

Tony: I fucking hate Joe man, he's such a prick.
Bo: Stop talking shit all the time, George is always talking hype about you

Similar to ‘it’s the whiskey talking’ when friends lose their filter after a night of drinking.

When a child is crying uncontrollably and you attempt to talk like an auctioneer to a third person within the painfully short, quiet, rhythmic, predictable breath(or reloading) periods of the aforementioned child's bawling.

talking to mute

The increasingly common situation where an individual on a conference orvideo call talks extensively without remembering to turn on their microphone. Also an excuse for situations where that same person wasn't paying attention to the call whatsoever. This situation is most common in conference call scenarios although it can also be seen in video conferences, particularly in the current work-from-home environment.
"Jamie? Jamie?? You there? We need your approval to allow the project to start."

(long pause)
"Oops, sorry, guys. Talking to mute again." (with the sound of toilet flushing in the background)
