Even if he/she filed his/her teeth down into serrated edges and wore black contacts, he/she still wouldn't have anybody convinced that he/she was really a shark. He/she was a poser, posing as a man eating denizen of the seas.

Someone who acts like they're from Baltimore even though they're from outside Harrisburg. Someone who has not only a thousand different screen names or online profiles, but also has fictional hometowns or current locations, fictional lives to go with them. A poser tries to outdo other people at silliness while trying to get taken more seriously than everyone else.

The poser was always this and that, always under somebody else's skin to make himself/herself look/feel more authentic. The poser wanted an authentic image.

A common misspelling of the word "Poseur", used to define someone who pretends to be something he/she is not. This type of person generally prescribes to a particular social group, in order to be trendy or popular; but does not really believe or practice anything that particular group does.

"Hey guys. I just wanted to let you know, I've become emo over the past couple of weeks."
"Really? What bands are you listening to nowadays?"
"Miley Cyrus and The Jonas Brothers."
"Screw you Poser."
"Screw you asshole. It's spelled Poseur."

Someone who dresses Goth, but doesn't pay enough attention to Goth lyrics to understand that to be Goth is to listen to the music, and also to rebel against the mainstream. If you see someone in a Bauhaus shirt, but they are talking like this: "bruh for real. Bro what. Bro says. Bro this, bro that. That's lit. That's fire ", it's a good chance they are a poser.

"Bro, broooooo bro." Bro- a term used by normal people, that is rejected by alternative subcultures. Slang denotes a poser Goth.

Some females want to look and sound like guys, when the guys are athletes, soldiers, or astronauts, something positive. They don't want to look or sound like guys who are dumbasses, losers, junkies, or goofuses as often, the same ones that wanted to look like astronauts often turn into cowards and let some male look like the loser.

The female poser wanted a male image, trying to say that it was equality, but in reality she didn't want the full range of the experience that went with being male, especially the negative things. She didn't want more of her kind committing suicide because they were losers, the way males have done for a long time. She didn't want more of her kind to look weak to the world, since to her only males could be cowards.
