throttling

Describes the intentional shipping and receiving delays imposed by the online DVD rental service NetFlix to limit their customer's maximum number of DVD rentals per month.

By delaying the shipment and denying the receipt of returned DVD's, NetFlix is able to limit (throttling) users to a maximum number of DVD's per month while advertising unlimited rentals. This practice has recently come to light with both a Class Action law suit and recent a recent AP story that ran nationally.

Hempfield Bomb Threat

A typical threat that occurs throughout the year at Hempfield Highschool; some little freshman asshole makes this threat and thinks he/she doing a favor for everybody in the school there; Typically, one will enter the bathroom, and write it down for someone to see. Or other scenario, some group of assholes will be joking about blowing the school up in the halls, and someone will call the safe school hotline and cry about their life possibly ending. The school then evacutes, and smart idea, puts everyone under the bleachers . . the mostly likely place a bomb would be put.

" Hey Derek, did you hear about the Hempfield Bomb Threat? "

"Blowing up the school? That's old news."

I've heard this word a few times now. It means when someone appears threatening but does not actually back it up with feats of strength or bravado. They are threatposing. Posing to be threatening but that's about it.

"I went by Darby's Bar yesterday and there was a bouncer there threatposing at the door."
"Yeah, I know who you mean. That's Gill. Beneath all that toughness he's a real creampuff."
