a timeless phrase, used with great versatility. you can say this at pretty much any time or situation but definately works best when said during one of those long awkward pauses in a conversation.

sometimes shortened to simply "dental plan..." let open to completion by others present, or simply left abbreviated.

taken from the famous "union" episode of the simpsons, this is what homer repeats to himself over and over again whilst trying to decide whether to pursue a dental plan program for workers of the nuclear plant or to give up this right for a free keg of beer. hrmmm....

... dental plan, lisa needs braces
some guy: "and that's when i realized that my glasses were on my *head* the whole time!"
dudes: " .... "
me: "... dental plan, lisa needs braces"

1. Horrible, painful metal contraptions that are placed on your teeth by people with no sense of humor and a love of seeing kids in pain (called "orthodontists").

2. A combination of metal wires, brackets and teeny rubber bands that sap you of the ability to talk normally, eat candy, get a date, and wake up without a checker pattern etched into your gums.

3. A device placed on the teeth that leaves you crying every 6 weeks as you leave the orthodontist because they say you won't get them off for another few months (yet, you're still "almost there!")
I'd offer you some of this/these super good popcorn/pretzels/caramel/toffee/taffy/gum/gummy worms, but you have braces...

Yeah, she's kinda hot, but look at those braces...

Now I know you thought you'd get your braces off this time, but we still need a little more time....yes, I know it's been 4 years, but you're "almost there"!

I miss watching the Braves of the 90s, with Greg Maddux, Tom Glavine, John Smoltz, Chipper & Andruw Jones, etc. Even though I'm not from the ATL I rep those Atlanta Braves

Brake Boosting

Share definition
When in a race (normally from a roll) The operator of a "boosted" (turbocharged) car does a tricky maneuver involving applying brakes then adding in throttle to add more brake smoothly to eventually cause the engine to load up spooling the turbine creating boost/power while maintaining a constant rpm/speed so that when the driver lets off the brakes the car takes off like a bullet.
The car on the left brake boosted on that race.... didn't you hear the turbo spooling before they went?

A type of practical joke which usually involves taking the victim's cellphone and texting a friend or relative with some devastating news. The victim then has their cellphone returned to them, and are left to deal with the consequences of the text message - which is all intended in good humour. The name Brikesh is derived from the inventors of the joke - two Portsmouth university students called Brijesh and Malkesh.
Amelia was the victim of a Brikesh when they texted her mum to say that she was pregnant.

Jake Brake

Share definition
A compression release engine brake, frequently called a Jake brake or Jacobs brake, is an engine braking mechanism installed on some diesel engines. When activated, it opens exhaust valves in the cylinders, releasing the compressed air trapped in the cylinders, and slowing the vehicle.

Although Jake brake properly refers to the Jacobs brand of engine brakes, the term has become a genericized trademark and is often used to refer to engine brakes or compression release engine brakes in general, especially on large vehicles or heavy equipment.

They are often not allowed in to be used in towns as they create loud, clattering noises.
I saw a semi get pulled over because he pulled his Jake Brake in city limits trying to slow the rig down in a slower speed zone.
