1. Internet slang for trolling.
2. In traditional gaming jargon, engaging in a discussion that goes way outside likelihood or canon without any serious intent.

Someone who is generally awkward. Stands around awkwardly and makes everyone around him tense. A derp often is the type that tries to do something cool/risky and fails horribly the first time.

Person 1: "Whoa he managed to crash his dad's car the first time he drove it?"
