Gone Gold

A game has "Gone Gold" when the final master copy has been produced at the developer and sent off for replication, packaging and shipment. The game is not yet released, but it will typically be around 2-3 weeks (sometimes less) before it begins appearing on store shelves and online pre-orders arriving at doorsteps. The term itself comes from the old practice of recordable CDs being manufactured with gold film. Hence the gold colored CD actually being the source, with no reference to copies sold as in the recording industry.

gold sink

A "Gold Sink" is a term used in MMORPGs for any game mechanic that is designed to remove money from the game's economy. This can be things like vendor purchased items, equipment repair, sales taxes & fees or even mailbox costs.

The idea behind this is to help remove money from the economy to curb inflation of the game's economy, although in most cases this is met with only limited success.

"My armor repairs were so expensive! Nothing but a damn gold sink!"

Golden Snub-Nosed Monkey

The most chill monkey in the primate family. This ape is not afraid to dap up his homies and crack a cold one with you on a nice summer night. They are found in China but are chill enough to pay half of the rent if you wanna move somewhere else with it.

Sadly their overwhelming coolness is not helping them. As of 2021, they are on the brink of extinction. with about 10,000 or less left in the wild.

Guy 1: Yo this is my main man Golden Snub-Nosed Monkey, *daps him up* he pays half rent with me.
