It is an olden Punjabi word that means satisfaction. It was used during 1600s to 1800s and people use it nowadays for naming purposes. For boys it is used as “Tript” and for girls it is used as “Tripti”

Trip Metal

Trip Metal is a term that was conceived by John Olson of the band Wolf Eyes to categorize the band’s sound which originated in a meme that helped popularize the term. The genre covers a wide variety of what once constituted the noise music scene. An annual Trip Metal Fest, curated by the members of Wolf Eyes, showcases many of the acts that fall under the genre which takes place in Detroit and in recent years has spread to other cities in the Midwest.

John Olsen (sic) christened the phrase when he tweeted a photo of a wolf—fangs bared—with a declaration that his band embodied "Trip Metal."—ostensibly to highlight both the psychedelia and the aggression of his band's sound. -via Thump

The Wisconsin Death trip is a celebration of life in the midst of death, and a celebration of death in the midst of life. Common elements of the death trip include:

The Funeral Drinking Game
Photography of the person laying in state.
The endless loop Seasons of Your Life animation montage of the deceased
Memorial Day cemetery picnics
Cookie Cutters made from home casting raised letters from tombstones
Meeting a future spouse at a funeral

Dealing with death stress by having particularly good sex

But, there are regional variations.

Some of this has been documented in a book called Wisconsin Death Trip by Michael Lesy, Charles Van Schaik, and Warren Susman.

I thought I could escape the Wisconsin Death Trip by moving away from Wisconsin until I realized that we all carry the Wisconsin death trip within us — even people who aren’t from Wisconsin.

William and Mary Triathlon

A tradition at William and Mary in which students go streaking in the Sunken Gardens (the central quad), go swimming in the Crim Dell (an algae-filled pond), and jump over the wall of the Governor's Palace (a building in Colonial Williamsburg) at night. Truly daring students do all of this naked.
