A nickname given to someone who eats porridge on a regular basis. Only few know the real pronunciation of the word. If you try and say the word without knowing the right way to pronounce it, you will be mocked and laughed at.

Vegetable & cereal kind of soup or stew found in national cuisines across the Balkans, North Africa, Central Europe, Eastern Europe, Central Asia, Middle East and the Indian subcontinent.
Some of most renown variants being maghreb recipes of chorba.
Cereals like barley can be replaced with sorts of pasta and often prepared with meat like veel or chicken.

This tunisian Chorba is quite different from a normal soup, such exhilerating flavors.

shkembe chorba

A tripe soup very popularin Bulgaria, used as a breakfast (after drinking), lunch, dinner, supper, brunch, road-trip meal, festive dish. As a practical joke to non-Bulgarians. It is characterised by a very strong smell, even before you add up to 50% of its volume in vinegar, garlic and chilli powder. It is best to eat it at the worst possible locations, such as provincial truck stops, old train stations and such. Widely popular as a hangover remedy.

- I'm so pissed. That last bar was such a dump.
- Yeah. Let's go get shkembe chorba at the train station.
