the gays

(n); double-stack of pillows usually glued tightly together because of overuse; never separated and always together one on top of the other, like a gay couple
related to the "three sisters" group of pillows found on my fiance's side of the bed.
Jordan: I have had it with the three sisters. They take up the whole bed. Move your lesbian pillow pack
Spence: Oh you and the gays be quiet.

Queen of the gays

Carly Rae Jepsen is the current title owner.

Her album E•MO•TION solidified her authority.

There are no other people who currently have claim to this honor.

Previous monarchs include Saint Sebastian, Judy Garland, Madonna, Marilyn Monroe, Donna Summer, Janet Jackson, Lady Gaga.

There are many gay icons, but the Queen of each era stand above the others.

Its highly unlikely that Carly Rae Jepsen will be dethroned any time soon.

Queen of the Gays

A term used for a woman in celebrity culture who gay/queer people identify heavily with and adore/defend because of said identification. Sometimes often impersonated by drag queens as well.

Joan Rivers (among many others such as Judy Garland, Janet Jackson, Lady Gaga, Beyoncé Knowles, Britney Spears, and Betty White) is often attributed to this title. As her comedy, charity work with AIDS and suicide survivors (which disproportionately have affected gay people), and overall support for the gay community has lived on after her passing. She was one of the first celebrities to speak against the AIDS crisis in support of gay people.
