The art of having a well
made patient bed in an ER, ICU or Hospital setting. This helps to facilitate patient positioning during portable radiologic exams. These exams require a
plate to be placed between the patient and the bedding behind them and is made easier by
proper bedmanship.
The
RN had great bedmanship, the patient had a clean fitted sheet with
2 overlapping chucks positioned underneath them from the top of the shoulder extending below the pelvis.
The
RN has bad bedmanship, the sheet was soaking
wet and coming off the bed. The patient was stuck to the mattress with no chuck to prevent chaffing or bruising.
