old school purist 

One who is dedicated to the original and best version of various things. One who is not swayed in any way by trends, fads, styles, etc. of things. One who insists on high quality and is not interested in cheap knockoffs. One who detests all things that are inferior, even though these inferior things are hyped and promoted by the mainstream.
An old school purist who games would insist on playing the Original Dungeons & Dragons instead of all the later developed cheap imitations of the real thing.

old school purist 

One who is solely interested in trends, fads, styles, etc. of things, such as cars, videogames, clothes, music, etc., from previous decades. They usually detest, or at least dont agree with, current trends, fads, styles, etc. of things, such as cars, videogames, clothes, music, etc.
An old-school videogame purist only plays Atari, NES, Super NES, Original Gameboy, Sega Genesis, or Game Gear.

Old school car purist would only drive and old muscle car with jacked-up back wheels, Cragar wheels, wide back tires, and chrome engine parts.
