"Nè" it's a typical
expression of northern Italy.
It has no precise meaning. It can be used to emphasize the sentence. It can be compared to the English "do you
understand?", "is it true?" or "Didn't you?" in a context where who says "nè" is expecting an
affirmative answer.
"Tra poco fai i compiti, nè!"
"you have to do your
laundry soon, do you
understand?"
"Sei già andato a prendere il pane, nè?"
"You have already gone to
get the bread, didn't you?"
"La Carla è stupida, nè?"
"Carla is stupid, Isn't she?"
