Rhetorical Question

A question asked in which one already knows the answer to not expecting reply; simply to be a dick, to annoy you, or for some other odd reason.
"Why'd you get me pregnant Jonny?"
"I thought you loved children?!"
"I do! I just wanted to make sure you remembered.(:"
"You're a crazy hoe, I'm out! Call me when you need child support. Better yet, I'll give you a booty call within the week."

Now you see, the moral of the story is never to ask rhetorical questions.

Rhetorical question

A question asked of someone either in identical or varied form by that same person or persons.

It typically cannot be answered since it would have previously been answered.

Therefore, the expectation of that person or persons being questioned is that they need not be expected to respond to it (wastes time and useful energy).

The questioning tends to be done somewhat annoyingly to add emphasis to an initial query. However, the net result is more like an annoying interrogation.

"Did you look in area X as you said you would?"

"Yes I did. I searched thoroughly but without success."

"Are you sure?" He asks incredulously.

"I believe I've answered your question already. That was a rhetorical question.!"

I ask myself, "If my ability to find something so simple and familiar is so sadly doubtful why the f... don't you look for it yourself?"

Pissed off with this moron, I cut discussion and exit the room.

Rhetorical Statement

Like a rhetorical question, a rhetorical statement is one that doesn't need to be commented on. When a person says something that isn't meant to start a conversation.
Bob: My girlfriend just dumped me for a man-whore
Jack: Ha sucker! I told you this would happen!
Bob: You douche it was a fucking rhetorical statement!

Rhetorical Phone Call

A term coined by UK Grime artist; JME, meaning a phone call that you don't answer. Stems from the term 'rhetorical question' which is a question that doesn't require an answer, such as "Are you silly blad?".
When she phones me I can't be bothered to answer, might as well call it a rhetorical phone call

Rhetorical Rant

1. A rant you go on, mainly directed towards yourself, in the presence of others. Not expecting or desiring a reaction from said present company.

2. Ranting to yourself aloud, much like thinking aloud.
Person 1: You know, that commercial was so stupid.....
*****5 Min. later*****
.....It's fuckin ridiculous!

Person 2: Dude, there was no need of, or point to that.

Person 1: Fuck you, it was a Rhetorical Rant!
