Epistemological Productivity

The combined operation of epistemological recursion (criteria for knowledge applying to themselves) and epistemological generativity (the ability to produce new epistemic standards). Epistemological productivity allows knowledge communities to refine their own standards without falling into either dogmatism (refusing to change) or infinite regress (demanding justification for every justification). It is the hallmark of mature epistemic practices.
Example: “Legal epistemology shows epistemological productivity: courts develop rules of evidence, then appellate courts refine those rules, and scholarly commentary generates new frameworks—all while maintaining functional standards.”

Scientific Productivity

The combination of scientific recursion (science studying itself) and scientific generativity (the capacity to generate new research programs). Scientific productivity is what enables science to be self‑correcting: metascience produces insights about bias and methodology; those insights are fed back into generativity, shaping new research that is more rigorous. It is the engine of scientific progress as a reflexive, evolving institution.
Example: “The replication crisis triggered scientific productivity: metascience revealed flawed practices; new generative methodologies (preregistration, open data) emerged from that reflection.”

Philosophical Productivity

The synergy of philosophical recursion (philosophy reflecting on itself) and philosophical generativity (generating new concepts, distinctions, and frameworks). Philosophical productivity is what prevents philosophy from becoming mere history: each generation uses recursion to critique its predecessors and generativity to build new systems. It is the engine of philosophical tradition as a living conversation rather than a set of dead doctrines.
Philosophical Productivity Example: “Kant’s work was philosophically productive: it recursively critiqued earlier metaphysics and generated a new framework that, in turn, became the object of recursion and generativity by Hegel, Nietzsche, and beyond.”

Productively Relaxing

The state in which a person is calm and comfortable while being effective and efficient.
Heather is "productively relaxing" while laying down in her bed conducting research for her paper

Jon is "productively relaxing" while laying down on his couch checking his emails

Prodfuctivity

Spending the day cutting through red tape and doing paperwork and paying accounts and reporting, so there is no time to do any actual work to report on, therefore disappearing up one's own arse.
Bill : "I spent the morning paying accounts and reporting and chasing invoices up my own arse. It was total prodfuctivity. Later that day though I got through a shitload of actual work."

Ted: "Wow, that's counterprodfuctive."

Productively Lazy

When you’re wanting or thinking about being lazy, you’re technically productively lazy. Since being productive is setting your mind on doing something, then doing it, makes wanting to be lazy productive.
Andrew; You’re lazy.

George; No, I’m productively lazy.
