Mosh Photography

The delicate art of (trying) to take pictures of a band, most often the frontman, while in the mosh pit. Something that people with compact cameras have to undergo because only from close upfront can they ever get a chance at a decent shot. However there they have to deal with the moshers, constant bumping, pushing, jumping, combined with your camera moving, the singers moving, and crappy light conditions..
"man i was doing some mosh photography last night at a gig, my camera nearly flew out of my hand! "

model photography

A term used by people who have no clue about photography and all its genres. The person usually is only interested in taking "cool" pictures for their model mayhem and MySpace accounts and has no clue about the world of advertising, galleries, or culture. The term is best overused when dropping the word "model" multiple times to show the photographerators self perceived coolness.
"I'm on model mayhem and I do model photography with models and I have a question about how to load my film in my digital camera so I can do a TFCD with a model and junk, you know?"

Facebook LOL Photography

When one takes a picture, preferably candid, and makes the subject look like a fool/ extremely awkward.

It makes you "lol"
Mother: Oh Dear! Look at Johnny in that photo! LOL!

Son: That's Facebook LOL Photography, ma!

digital photography

The future. Get over it. Remember, a digital SLR is essentially a 35mm camera; you still have to know the basics in order to use it. Taking great pictures is not a matter of using or not using photoshop, it's having the eye. Great pictures come from the soul, not the equipment. Film is gone, nothing lasts forever, but the spirit of photography remains.
My D70s and the D3 I will soon own make everything clear through the 50mm lens. Digital photography is the greatest thing to ever happen to photojournalism.

Macro Photography

An art of photography of very close up pictures, such as that of a bug.

Macro photos can not be taken with lenses that aren't of the macro variety.

Siamesefemalefacial Photography

The act of females sticking their faces together whenever they are photographed.
"That pic has a classic example of Siamesefemalefacial Photography."

gorilla photography

Photography based on shooting abandoned or derelict properties, buildings, vehicles, etc in an urban setting. The photographer will usually trespass, break in and risk legal issues to get the shot. Also, the photographer risks injury from severely dilapidated structures and other hazards common in decaying structures. There is also risk involving feral dogs, rats, the homeless and criminals.

Term coined by Baltimore resident, designer/photographer Robert Gillespie in 2009.
As the economy shrinks and the urban landscape deteriorates in old manufacturing areas, the opportunity for excellent gorilla photography increases.
