One part of a murmur. Murmurs are not limited to two parts, not so obviously. Stated alone, it basically calls for a sympathetic repetition of the word by the speakers audience, creating a murmur of whatever the appropriately situational gestalt may be; approval, discontent, whatever attitude was conveyed by the tone of the original utterance.

2) A nickname given to another.

***Murr is NOT a sound that any animal would make such as purr, moo or baaa. Any person who uses the word Murr as a sound makes themself look like an idiot.

Murr is a common sound made by animals, most of the time cats or dogs, that have just munted. The sound can be a quiet murrr to a quiet agonizing MURRRRR depending on how sick the animal is.
