Derived from computer lingo. When in Standby mode there is still power but the computer is not functioning. This is similar to the high as fuck brain.

Standby Ho 

(noun) A junior enlisted or new private's exceptionally loose female thing that is ready for duty or deployment for sex at a moments notice at the barracks, in the car, at the club, or wherever most convenient. There is no emotional attachment only physical gratification on a moments notice especially during a dry spell. Such person will be a frequent user of multiple social media outlets to obtain much sex from new enlisted personnel.

She is marked by having questionable morals, and can be available on a whim for sex at the barracks, in the car, off-post, at the club, or wherever it may be most convenient. She can be found with several accounts on various social media outlets to be better available. There is no emotional attachment or involvement simply just physical gratification.

Semper Standby

When marines are in the midst of being left with out orders, they are therefore told to "standby" Which can be from one minute to an indefinate amount of hours. Leaving the marine to do nothing but sit stare. Which in turn drives marines crazy. Which is followed by crazy ass marines, doing stupid ass shit.
