Humboldt, Kansas 

A b.a town that won the 2011 Kansas State Babe Ruth tournament. Only has a population of 1900 but they still kick ass at baseball.

Humboldt, Kansas is now the champs and is going to regionals.

humboldt park 

A big old park designed by Olmsted, in Chicago near Division (St.) and California (Ave.), located in the middle of what has long been a highly dysfunctional neighborhood; the most dangerous part of the city; now with a growing number of yuppies moving in, but the old crew hanging on as well.
A good percentage of the buildings on Division Street have been burned since the 1970's, giving the neighborhood a semi-rural feel. But, don't be deceived by looks, nor stay around there after dark. It is still a pretty bad place with big trouble lurking here and there.

Roberto Clemente High School, the school with the highest rate of violence and teen pregnancies, lowest test scores, and largest number of dropouts in the city, is in Chicago's Humboldt Park neighborhood.

Humboldt Park reminds me of, "Rip-Off Park", from the old 'Freak Brother's', comics.

humboldt park 

A community that lies on the northwest side of Chicago, Illinois. Paseo Boricua is the very essence of Puerto Rican history and culture in Chicago's Latin community.

Jenny: What's with all these.. um, white people coming in? I mean, I don't mind them being white, you know.

Stephanie: Yeah, I agree. I don't mind them being white at all. But these particular people are trying to diminish our culture by slowly taking over every small business and changing it completely! I mean, they even want to take down the two flags which mark where Paseo Boricua begin and end. This is terrible. Have they no shame?!

Jenny: Yeah. Aqui luchamos, aqui nos quedamos. (Here we struggled, here we stay.)
