You either die a hero, or live long enough to see yourself become the villain.

When you only try to see good in people, always help others, be everyone’s favourite, and suddenly die somehow, vut everyone remembers you as a Hero. Or you have lived enough to see how the world really works, you’ve seen a lot of times that you can’t trust anyone, people use people who have a good heart. You need to be heartless to survive in this world. The ‘Hero’ would be eaten alive by this world if they still lived. They would have been a doormat to everyone.
Elly had the biggest heart. She always said yes, she forgave everyone who hurt her and always tried to see the good in people. But they used her kindness, the world broke her and she gave up on life.

Ren has seen the world and people in it. She has been hurt, but she only got stronger and smarter. She knows not to be too kind. She knows when to say no. You can’t trust anyone around you. You have to be cold-hearted to survive in this cold-hearted world.

You either die a hero, or live long enough to become a vegetable

Guy 1: "Give me an Alpha Male Quote"
Guy 2: "You either die a hero, or live long enough to become a vegetable"

You either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain

When someone lives a great life and helps others, hence is a hero, however as time passes they are corrupted for whatever reason, and live long enough to become the villain. This change is inevitable for most heroes, unless they take the opportunity to die a hero earlier (or quit the business of being a hero, as its suggested bruce wayne was trying to in the dark knight rises' end)

Quote by Harvey Dent in Batman The Dark Knight
Darren the legend went to get some us some underage beer with their fake id, but got busted and ended up snitching on us to the feds.

I guess it's true, you either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain, jeoffrey said in his prison cell of 25 years.

You either die and be a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain

This is quoted from Two-Face of the Dark Knight movie. An interpretation of this quote is that you could stick to your morals,of what's right,to be loyal to a cause, even if it is of your detriment (die and be a hero).Should you contradict your values for your betterment, you may find yourself making the same decisions of the very people you yourself considered corrupt/evil(live long enough to see yourself become a villain.)

It means that in life you are given choices and this defines who you will become morally. You choose who you are and if you choose to be bad than you are the villian but if you choose to be good then you are a hero. We are all faced with the choice of being good or bad but you only you can choose it.

A quote from the dark knight by harvey dent
Tejeda chose to be good for the first 25 years of his life but then he decided to rob and kill people. At his trial the judge asked Tejada how he could've changed so drastically and his lawyer replied by saying you either die a hero or you live long enough to see yourself become the villian.

she's like heroin to me

A song by 80's punk rock band The Gun Club. The phrase itself insinuates some kind of unhealthy fixation with a woman.
She's like heroin to me. She cannot miss the vein.

From Herod to Pilate

When you have to run back and forth between two or more people/officials/offices (seemingly to no end) in hopes of resolving your issue. Typically used in the world of bureaucracy where one hand often doesn't know what the other is doing and no one has an answer to your question.
I have been sent back and forth from Herod to Pilate for a year now to get a verification-stamp on my passport and now you're telling me that you don't really have the TIME??
