Italian word for autonomism, sometimes used in the English-speaking world because of the movement's emergence in Italy.

It is a collective noun referring to a social force or movement, rather than an ideological appelation.

The growth of autonomia was accompanied by increasingly severe attempts to suppress the movement.

autonamiss

(n.) Portmanteau of "autonomous" (also a homophone) and "miss"/"mistress" (in the traditional use as the female head of a household).

An umbrella term to encompass all females, of legal marrying age, who are not married. This includes widows, divorcees, and those who never married.

After her divorce, Julie was happy to be an autonamiss again. She even threw herself a 3-day autonamiss coming out party in Vegas with her four best single friends.
