similar to the "n-word", cholo is a word reinvented by some south florida kids to be used amongst other hispanics. just like the "n-word", if any other race says it, it's offensive, and you'll prolly catch some hands so... dont say it.

Cholo is a term in which created by a specific broken up friend group, they were in school and a boy was writing “chocolate” but instead wrote “cholo” by accident. They all made a joke about it and it’s now amazing, but the friend group is broken up now.

Cholo 

A cholo is term implying a Hispanic male that typically dresses in chinos (khahki pants), a wifebeater sleeveless teeshirt or a button up shirt with only the top buttoned, and usually found with a bandana around the forehead, mostly warn halfway down over the eyes. Cholos often have black ink tattoos, commonly involving Catholic imagery, or calligraphy messages or family names.

Cholos often drive low riders.
