Lewis really means that he wants John to be inspired, whether he is inspired by the day unfolding on it's own accord or he takes it upon himself to indulge in information that will inspire.

Perpendogular 

Perpendogular is when an adult dog lays on the bed in a perpendicular orientation to which you're laying.

I'd have slept well last night, but my dog was constantly laying perpendogular to me so I had no room in the bed.
