KOL'D

To have blindly followed the opinions, advice, or endorsements of a Key Opinion Leader (KOL) without critical analysis, leading to missing out on an opportunity or making a suboptimal decision.

Origin: Derived from "KOL" (Key Opinion Leader), a term used in marketing for individuals whose opinions are seen as authoritative in their field. "KOL'D" plays on the idea of being "sold" on an idea or product due to the influence of these figures.

Context: Used when someone realizes they've made a mistake by not doing their own research or thinking independently, instead trusting the opinion of a KOL too heavily. Often said with a tone of regret or self-deprecation.

Synonyms: Influenced, swayed, duped by hype.
