The Qayaad is a subclan of the reer darawiish; the southernmost reer darawiish clan. During the colonial era, the Qayaad constituted the southern Darwiish flank, whereby they displayed a ruthless vigour against attempts at colonization from the south, including against Italians and Abyssinians; they also provided several men, Quuusi members such as Macalin Cagadhiig, Xirsi Jeedlade, Farah Qarshi, as well as a southern safety route from which the central Darwiish forces could maneuver.

Baharsame

Baharsame is a reer darawiish subclan which is frequently confused with their much more numerous reer darawiish cousins Ararsame. Although they are similar sounding, and genealogically very close (in fact, they're both Farah Garaad), they are also very distinct reer darawiish subclans. Baharsame is best known for historically being the hereditary royal lineage of the entire reer darawiish. Ararsame is best known for becoming the first Somalis to host the Sayyid in 1886 at Buuhoodle dareema caddo, thereby becoming the earliest Darwiish. Nonetheless, Baharsame has a glorious Darwiish history too, particularly when the 16th Garaad Mohamed IV pardoned the Sayyid after being given a diyya payment, whereby the Darwiish shifted from a movement to a fully fledged state in 1900. Baharsame also produced several Qusuusi and Darwiish warriors.
