P.K.E. Meter or P.K. meter is a Prop. used in every Ghostbusters Movies , series ans comics .
Basically the P.K.E. meters are used to detect ghost by pointing to their general directions or to calculate the intensity of paranormal activity like slime presence .
P.K.E. stands for Para Kinesis Energy or Para Kinetic Energy .
the p.k.e meter is upstaged by the more powerfull Giga-meter seen in Ghostbusters II .

Giga-meter
An upgraded version of the P.K.E. meter , is a prop. used in the movie ghostbusters 2 .
The Giga-meter varies in the fact that it calculates Gigaelectron Volts instead of Parakinetic Energy .
The prop. itself can be seen ( modified ) in one of the star trek movie and also in the They live movie .

Ecto goggles
ecto goggles are an incredible tool used in the first ghostbusters movie and the 2009 ghostbusters game by Atari.
The goggles allows the wearrer to actually see invisible ghosts witch is good when trying to capture it with the proton pack , since the wearer don't have to hold the P.K.E. meter while holding the proton pack wand and activating the ghost trap .

Containment unit
Containment unit is the main ghost incarceration system used by the ghostbusters in any Movies , series and comics .
The containment unit is where the ghostbusters empties their ghost traps , releassing the ghosts in their new habitat , the (other dimention) as seen in the animated serie several times .
The containment unit needs a constant source of energy to keep the ghosts in the other dimention , sometimes the containment unit also called containment tank in the Extreme ghostbusters animated , tends to leak a ghost or negative energy from time to time .
The containment unit is located in the ghostbusters H.Q. firehouse basement .
The containment unit is where the ghostbusters empties their ghost traps , releassing the ghosts in their new habitat , the (other dimention) as seen in the animated serie several times .
The containment unit needs a constant source of energy to keep the ghosts in the other dimention , sometimes the containment unit also called containment tank in the Extreme ghostbusters animated , tends to leak a ghost or negative energy from time to time .

Once the ghost is trapped , you need to empty the trap in the containment unit in order to reuse the ghost trap .

Proton pack
The proton pack is a fictional piece of equipment (Prop )used by the Ghostbusters in every episodes , film and comic books , it is what makes the Ghostbusters what they are .
Proton packs are essencially nuclearaccelerators that are used to accelerate particles also known as Particle throwers .
The particles create an energy stream or ribbon used to catch ghosts , it does not trap them only direct them to the ghost trap witch is emptiend in the containment unitinside the Ghostbusters firehouse headquarter basement .
Important to note that particle stream or ribbons should not be crossed or enter in contact with each other because the results could be catastrophic according the Egon Spengler in the first movie , yet in the 2009 Ghostbusters game simply cause some painful thingling to the characters .
In the 2009 games it is also noted that the packs can be upgraded with slime thrower and other types of energy beams to help the Ghostbusters cope with different kinds of spooks .
Note that in the pilot episodes of The real ghostbuster the ecto 1 have a particle thrower canon mounted on a seat on the hearse roof witch can also be seen in the toy version of Kenner , and in the DS version , the only one you can actually control the ecto 1A you can use a similar particle thrower .

Chiller
Classic horror arcade video game of 1986.

It is a game played with a light shotgun .
The game itself is divided in 4 levels : the torture chamber , the hall , a second torture chamber and finally the cemetary .
every time you complete one of the level by finding all the secret items before the time ends , you will be rewarded a slot machine bonus and if you finish all four levels finding all the secret items , you are awarded a shoot em up bonus rouds worth a lot of points .
This game is a real sadic one ,, not onlly you must destroy paranormal entities like zombies , ghosts , rats and bats and such but also you have to eliminate what seems to be innocent persons as well .
The game itself is well made and has terrific sounds but its amazing that it got distributed without trouble or censorship .
This game spawned a bootleg remake for the ever so popular Nintendo entertainment system (NES) 8 bit console .

A slight modification of the already original ecto 1 modified 1959 Cadillac hearse made for the ghostbusters 2 movie in 1989 .
In an attempt to refresh the new ghostbusters 2 films look , decision to modify the ecto 1 was made by adding new accesories on top of the hearse and two electronic bilboards on each side to advertise ghostbusting ads .
The overall new ectomobile was nice enough to not alter the already popular look of the iconic car .
Note that the car also comes equipped with a proton particle thrower and giant ghost trap ( featured in the atari 2600 , nes , sega games systems . ) never used in any of the two previous ghostbusters films , but was featured in the real ghostbusters animated series pilot .
