Not quite friends, with benefits. A non-exclusive sexual partner of mild familiarity, but with whom an ongoing physical relationship has pre-empted and superceded any other meaningful friendship.

spockulation

Jumping to a logical conclusion which, though seemingly obvious, has failed to occur to anyone else.

It's my spockulation that these silicon nodules are actually the rock monster's eggs, so perhaps we should stop smashing them.
