If you're aslave, you're not awakened to the fact that you are being enslaved. Falling aslave is a human condition which you enter with your own free will, not through the force and will of somebody or something else that commit the act of enslavement upon you. Like being asleep, you can always wake up from sleeping in so far as it is in your free will to go to sleep or stay awake. Being enslaved is when someone makes you a slave and cause you to lose your freedom of choice or action; being aslave is when you let that happen to you.
