introvert 

A very broad term that is misunderstood, but an "introvert" may contain one or more of these qualities. It pretty much comes down to choice however.

One who focuses on the inner world of thoughts and ideas.

One who gains energy from alone time, one who thinks before they speak.

"Look, I like hanging out with you, but you're making me tired ok? I'm an introvert!"

boxer 

A slang name given to a member of the secret kung-fu society "Heavenly Fists" during Qing (Ch'ing) China by Western folks.

They consisted of people who claimed to be impervious to bullets and pain, therefore the Empress Dowager allowed them to go on a rampage.

The British and others saw they were doing some weird "boxer" fighting movements, hence the name "Boxer".

"The Boxer Rebellion was pretty ineffective."

san jose 

A place with few venues for local bands, Christmas in the Park, and crazy Santa Clara cops in the next town over (which is all connected so you can't really tell).

Bad traffic and a bad nightlife.

"Hey! San Jose is 45 minutes away from SF!"

bubblegum 

A genre of music from the late 60's to the early 70's that was aimed towards pre-teen audiences. Usually involved upbeat sounds, and superficial lyrics.

"Now I'm going to listen to my favorite bubblegum artist while eating my Wonder Bread!"

Stanford University 

An evil bastion of California conservatism. Condoleezza Rice used to teach Political Science there.

Their art museum is quite nice though.

"It took me FOREVER to find parking at Stanford University!"

kush 

An ancient African kingdom which some argue influenced Egypt and the Western world as we know it.

Traditionalists and current evidence support that Sumer was the first civilization however.

"That Kushite sure made cute, little pyramids!"

lame duck president 

A President that already served his/her first term.

It usually means that the President can focus on different things now since they know they have nothing to lose (usually).

"George W. Bush is a lame duck president now!"
