A person who spends a lot of time at home cooking and baking, and has achieved a pleasant amount of chubbiness. New York-based comedian/writer Tony Atamanuik mentioned this term on a Twitch gaming stream on October 19th, describing himself as “a fat, bread-baking little f-ing house cherub”. The image is especially humorous when applied to someone who isn’t babylike (the “putto” depicted in Renaissance artwork), but a well-built middle-aged man.
This is especially relevant to the 2020 coronavirus pandemic, when many people found themselves housebound and turned to the kitchen to pass the time (and compensate for the difficulty in obtaining goods like bread and cakes after many retailers and restaurants shut down). With access to gym facilities restricted, bicycles and exercise equipment at a premium, and some areas imposing curfews or shelter-in-place orders due to rising infections, the “Corona 20” weight gain was widely discussed on social media.

This term began to appear after the December 2021 viral Reddit post "AITA for “perpetuating ethnic stereotypes” about Jorts?" on r/AmITheAsshole by u/ThrowawayOrangeCat about a conflict involving two cats at their workplace. The cats are named Jean and Jorts, and to cut a long story short, a human colleague named Pam had been spreading margarine on Jorts to encourage him to groom himself. (Presumably he would like the taste and spend more time licking it off.) It's unclear whether Jorts responded to this, because Jean began to lick his fur -- this upset her digestive system. Pam was asked to stop applying margarine to Jorts. Readers shared the post to social media, and people began posting memes and jokes about the situation.
Later that month, #DisabilityTwitter used the situation as an analogy, to address whether a particular accommodation is useful. (Implied: even if it's well-intentioned, if it's not helpful to the person with needs, it wastes time and may actually have negative impacts. Just like applying margarine to Jorts.)

A candidate representing a political party who seems highly unlikely to win, and although they are standing for office in good faith, may not be intending to campaign hard either. They usually do not have many resources, and may be political newcomers (or has-beens who are reluctant to leave politics). Their own organizations may not be willing or able to offer much support. As a result, they are usually not very visible on the campaign trail beyond putting up a few signs. In Quebec, the term for this type of candidate is “poteau” (post or pole), referring to signage on fenceposts or utility poles. Some may not campaign at all, just appearing on the ballot (“name on ballot”/NoB). Often this situation arises when a national political party wants to maintain its profile by running candidates in every district across the country, even ones that have traditionally shown little support.
This is not the same thing as a person who decides to run (or is manipulated into entering the race by other interests) in order to split the vote and prevent someone else from winning. An example of that from fiction is Willie Stark’s first gubernatorial campaign in “All The King’s Men”.
