Death

The news tells you people dont like to talk about death. If that was true, people would never talk about death, and yet, people talk about death all the time, to the point it's not interesting. People dont like to talk about sex and crazy people, but they love to talk about death.

Talking about death is dull, but people still love to talk about death and taxes for some reason. Death, taxes, and sports, three of the least interesting subjects seem to be the ones the most people talk about. You dont hear many people talk about bugs, trees, amphibians, or unicycles, they dont like to talk about those things (out loud) the way you hear people talk about death, taxes, and sports.

Asshole next door

The asshole neighbor you get when you try to turn an asshole into a boy next door.

A few people tried to tame the guy like he was a playful dog or a racehorse, but he didn't have the same kind of relationship even some of the more unruly, wilder horses had with people. The more they tried (to tame, overcome, or change him), the more they met the asshole next door.

A group of people that thinks they are nice and unselfish, but is really a bully together.

He had broken free of the chokehold on his mind (and body) of the collective bully.

Sucker

Seeing good that was never really there in someone isn't being a sucker, and it isn't weakness.

The guy felt like a sucker, but he wasn't a sucker. Foolish is someone who thinks kindness is passive and weak. An unkind person doesn't change into a kind person, people don't really ever change. They are who they were when they were born.

Goliath

Goliath was described as a giant, but mobsters and kings are sometimes described as giants even though they're short. There are many short guys with a similar disposition to Goliath, and if you didn't take the bible literally, you wouldn't rule out the possibility that Goliath is more like the short guy you went to school with or worked with.

If a short guy who was a lot like Goliath in disposition had written the story of David and Goliath, wouldn't he want people to think Goliath was 9 feet tall (which would be record breaking for a human being)?
