Thinking that all groups of white people (Europeans) colonized everything is ignorance, and it spreads like wildfire. You don't hear about many Russian or Polish colonies outside Europe/Eurasia. You don't hear about many parts of the world colonized by Eastern European groups. The Greeks also don't do much colonizing in recent history, so it's mainly been about 7 or 8 groups of Europeans that did most of the colonizing worldwide (English, Dutch, German, French, Belgian, Spanish, Portugeuse, and Italian). Those 7 or 8 groups have had a lot of the influence in Europe, so people in other parts of the world wouldn't have any more time to differentiate between an Italian and a Bosnian than someone in Europe would have time to differentiate between a Tanzanian and a South African, thus theres a lot of assumptions and ignorance based on what people look like.
Not even every family in every country that did colonize other parts of the world was involved in colonization. There were people/families in England, France, Spain, Portugal, Italy, the Netherlands, Germany, and Belgium that didn't have the time on the money to go out and explore the world, look for gold, or enslave other groups. They were going to work for the same kinds of people that were colonizing other parts of the world.

Which of the snakes in the grass were king snakes and which ones were copperheads? You don't always know by the shape of their heads like the reptilians on the side of the road.

The poser would try both a newcomer image and an established image, in case one or the other failed. She was too much of a coward to fail as herself, failing was for other people.

Some people think there's no difference between a movie, a sports game/match, a show, or an event, and every day reality. Despite all the talk about egos, the reality is who somebody is on a stage, a field/court/ring/octagon/ice, or on a screen is not the same as who they are in every day life, no matter what you read/hear/see about them in a magazine, on TV, or online. There's a lot of illusion in many acts, since anything that isn't who somebody was as a kid is an act to at least some degree.

Everyone wants what they don't have. You have speed, I have weed. You're nervous about having pills you stole from your brother, I ought to be nervous about having something illegal, but I'm not because I'm stoned. Let's trade so we each get the right thing, you need to calm down, I need to be more paranoid.
I'd like to take some of my brothers speed pills and see if I can make some money on the black market, I'm tired of waiting around hours and hours at work to get paid whatever I'll take for my efforts.

It's interesting how the Dodgers don't accuse the Rays of cheating, since they beat the Rays. It's also interesting how nobody ever accuses a team like the Dodgers of lying, cheating, or stealing (when they don't get beat).
The Dodgers like the Rays because they didn't get beat by the Rays, so they didn't think the Rays cheated, they thought the Rays played fair baseball. They might not have thought that if they got beat again, there would be all kinds of scandals and whining again in baseball.
