The hipster elite on any given college campus. Or, by extension, hipsters in general.

Someone from a rural area. Carries connotations of backwardness or narrowmindedness. Syn. clodhopper, hayseed, hick, rube, yokel.

Before the age of mass communications, country bumpkins were often amazed by the technologies the saw in cities.
