Reich is a uniquely German phrase and can’t be directly translated into English, but it means something between domain and Empire. German Reichs have existed fin many points through history, and were always contemporary Superpowers.
Examples of a German Reich include

Holy Roman Empire: (either 800 or 962, it is disputed) - 1806
German Colonial Empire (what most people think of when the think Reich) 1871 - 1919

Manfred von Richthofen 

Better known as the Red Baron, Richthofen was a German pilot and ace during World War One, he shot down 80 planes and was never defeated in an air battle. He eventually died in the Battle of Leis during the spring offensive in 1918. Manfred von Richthofen continues to be a national hero to most Germans.
Manfred von Richthofen has had many movies and hit Sabaton song made in his Honour. His grave in Wiesbaden is a national monument.

Leo von Caprivi 

The reichschancellor of the German empire from 1890 to 1894, a General and prolific statesman. He negotiated the caprivi strip in Namibia, then German south west Africa to give the colony access to the Zambezi river.
Leo von Caprivi had a very nice Moustache and Beard
