souveneer

A thin wafer or sheet of wood dat you bring back as a memento of a particular place you've visited.
Da roadside rest-area had "Please don't peel the birch" signs to deter visitors from destructively removing still-living bark from da majestic white "woodland soldiers" scattered throughout da area, but I assumed dat said directive did not really apply "in spirit" to just presently-separated coverings which were merely already-dead layers dat da trees had shed naturally, so I went ahead and helped myself to a small souveneer of da ragged papery sheets dat were just flapping loosely in da breeze.

illoomination

Hippie back-to-the-lander: I don't need no stinkin' electricity for seeing properly while I'm making yarn-creations on my knitting-machine --- my big skylights provide all the illoomination I need!

Cawcasian

1. A rare breed of albino crow.
2. Arrogant white folk who are always "crowing" about their "purity" and "supremacy"
Clyde Robert Bulla was one of the first writers to spread the word about Cawcasian crows in his book, White Bird.

beezarre

Odd in relation to buzzing honey-makers.
One beezarre aspect of bumblebees is dat it is scientifically impossible for them to fly. (Okay, okay --- so this isn't actually true, but it sounded good, and has oft been quoted as fact. :P)

condollence

An expression of sympathy to a young girl over a no-longer-usable human-replica toy.
During the course of my weekly vacuuming, I accidentally destroyed my 8-year-old daughter's Malibu Barbie, but since it was a very common style that was therefore readily available at the local Walmart, I was able to simply replace the broken unit with an identical new one, and so my "little mama" never knew the difference when she got home from school; no condollences were required.

Refers to the debate over the benefits and drawbacks of using engine-powered vehicles instead of livestock to pull processing-implements for crop-fields. A protractor is a geometry device used to create/plot charts and graphs showing the various advantages that gas/diesel/electric motive-power has over horses or oxen, while a contractor is a hired professional whose job is to present the negative effects of motorized farm-machinery.
The whole protractor vs. contractor issue is not one that has an easy answer or solution --- on the one hand, modern farm-machinery is easier and simpler to operate, but horses and oxen do not cost nearly so much to purchase or maintain.

grewsome

Describes do horrid or grisly nature of a creature dat is due to its having become noticeably larger than da last time it was seen.
James Herriot complained dat a young bull had become totally grewsome, due to da dim-minded and unmotivated farmer's having waited far too long in da animal's maturing-period before calling said modest-sized veterinarian to perform his necessary tests.
