The name given to a pet (most often a cat) that has been ran over and returned to the owner only to be cremated.

Pete 

Scottish ryming slang meaning to cry. Originates from the Scottish word "greeting" meaning to cry. Often used to mock the fact that someone is upset. It can be used as a noun (the person can be nicknamed "Pete" if they cry often) or as a verb (meaning to cry).
