To that last contributor, try reading posts, 32, and 35 OK, the underlying point of your ludicrously written post is that Australia is a more successful country simply owing to it's confidence along with a host of other reasons. You will only find a quarter of that in New Zealand but I have yet to meet someone on here who will encourage New Zealand to catch up in this area as opposed to being arseholes.

 Get the new zealandmug.
Get the new zealandmug. A country that loves New Zealand. Seriously. As opposed to this idea that many Aussies hate New Zealand well let's just say that a couple of years ago a certain young woman went to Bali for a holiday and what a fine time she's having too. (*not*) Leave it at that shall we? Obviously the inverse doesn't apply if the two nations are co-operating with each other in Solomons Tonga, Timor.. And two seperate countries they will remain. A majority of people in either nation weren't too keen on the idea in 1901 and aren't now. So if that lass with the sheep up her arse could try and realise that things would be good.

 Get the australiamug.
Get the australiamug. A mostly great and beautiful land of generally intelligent people who are not racist. As has already been stated, Australians have a friendly rivalry going with New Zealand. However, despite the sheep jokes the "fish and chips" bit there is a fondness for New Zealand behind it all. Despite Australia's image being "tarnished" recently, Australia will be able to hold her head high when little Johnny retires. The problem is, however, there is no alternative government to vote for.
Despite sentiments to the contrary, Australian society as a whole is not that racist. Hell, there are so many cultures living in Australia aren't there, you are bound to have a few tensions from time to time. I think it is important that people realise only a minority of Australians are racist thugs. The rest, are great people.

 Get the Australiamug.
Get the Australiamug. The nation that once ruled half the globe (British Empire). Was known to treat it's colonies as if they were shite at times (sent their youth to die in two world wars and Boer War) and very well in others. (Defence, trade) wiped it's colonies noses, asses, and so on. Has a long history of bad treatment of the Irish over a period of 800 years. Should be proud of teaching Canada and other dominions all of their traditions such as democracy, free speech, and should also be ashamed of their degrading treatment of the Irish.
The United Kingdom is a paradox, it has been a role model, and a human rights abuser, where do it's dominions get some of their bad habits from?

 Get the United Kingdommug.
Get the United Kingdommug. You people might want to do something about the chips on your shoulders. Good grief only neanderthals assume that because a person of a certain nationality talks in a certain way or does something to a certain animal then everyone else does it. Steve Irwin has just died numbnuts. He was a bloody legend in every sense of the word, who had a great passion for his promotion of the Australian environment and wildlife. I was shocked to read of his death this afternoon so will you flaming chip-on-the-shoulder ridden clowns do something good for yourselves and knock them off?
RIP Steve

 Get the Steve Irwinmug.
Get the Steve Irwinmug. The biggest city in New Zealand. By Australian and world standards needs to catch up in terms of public transport and livability, although I think this is starting to happen so I am not bitching too much.

 Get the Aucklandmug.
Get the Aucklandmug. Kind sir, as it happens, I'm a Canadian myself, and many Canadians I know, are quite fond of Kiwis and of New Zealand. Correct me if I'm wrong but aren't we in Canada living under America's shadow, (although this is a very mature and fine nation albeit not home to some of the best people). I do agree however that New Zealand is suffering from a higher instance, "little brother syndrome" all right? A lot like us at one point although we are overcoming it. New Zealand also suffers from a "cultural cringe" and yes is far from perfect, but as opposed to a low economy, NZ is actually doing relatively well, given it's isolation and what have you. I completely refute any reference to "sheep shagging" although to be fair, there are probably a minority of people in NZ who need to root them. And yes New Zealand lacks confidence in itself point taken, and there is a lot of catching up to do in this area, but there was a time when Canada lacked confidence in itself and some would argue, still do.
