Lynchgate

A conspiracy theory arising in the wake of Seattle's Super Bowl loss to the Patriots, which suggests that Pete Carroll attempted to elevate Russell Wilson and deflate Marshawn Lynch by calling a slant at the 1 yard line that was intercepted and caused the Seahawks to lose the Super Bowl.

When considering Pete Carroll's greatness as a Professional football coach, one cannot overlook Lynchgate and what motivates his coaching decisions.
