When one misinterpretation of something becomes so popular and widespread that the attempted course correction ends up going to the complete opposite extreme. This comes from the fanon characterization of Sans, going from an Angsty edgelord to a one dimensional joke character.

Toronto 

Believe it or not, Toronto is not the capital city of Canada, that would be Ottawa. Toronto is to Ottawa what New York City is to DC. Also, you can tell how Canadian someone is based on how much their pronunciation of Toronto does not sound like the word, a full Canadian says Churono instead. Being by far the most populous city in Canada, it’s honestly kinda boring, I mean they have a Canada’s Wonderland, but that’s it really.

American: Hey man, did you know that Toronto is the Capital City of Canada?
Literally anyone with a Google account: You seem like the kind of person who thinks Canada gained independence 3 days before America did

Atheist 

Someone who lacks faith in religion. There’s nothing more to it, they didn’t piss in your cheerios, they aren’t gonna murder your family, they don’t go into their basement every Sunday to do satanic rituals. The average atheist lacks faith until proven wrong, but that really loud, really outspoken group of Atheist who will turn away an offer if it’s from a religious person but then also carry on for hours about Astrology.
