The ASPCA was founded in 1866 by that great animatarian, Henry Bergh.

hesstick

A type of hangnail, specifically a long skinny rod of nail material that sprouts between the side skin and the nail itself. Found only on fingernails and often painful to remove.

He reached over to hold my hand and became impaled on my hesstick.
