A shortened term, meaning "Convention". A place where many people with simular intrests gather to show their respects. Such as star trek conventions, anime conventions, and motorcycle conventions.

"Are you going to cosplay at the con this year?"

"I've attended 5 cons this year, alone."

Means "File Transfer Protocol". It is a way to share files over the net. It's like networking computers, that aren't on your network. You can transfer any shared files, provided you have the proper IP and L/P.

2. A net slang term for "Bye" or "Good-bye".

A shortened term for "Download". Also there are DL's, DLing, and DL'd. Some refer to it as d/l.
