Beachball of Death

The Mac OS pointer icon of a colorful spinning wheel indicating the program currently under the mouse pointer is no longer responding. Called the beachball of death if the program never recovers or causes the operating system to become so busy (usually due to insufficient memory) that nothing else responds.
I ran a new shareware program, but killed it after I got the beachball of death.

The "Beach Ball of Death". On a modern Apple Macintosh, the spinning "beachball" graphic which replaces the mouse pointer when hovering over a window whose program has stopped responding. Somewhat analogous to the "BSOD" (Blue Screen of Death) on Windows-based computers. Usually BBOD applies when the entire Macintosh is so overburdened or one key program is so hopelessly hung up that rebooting is faster than waiting for the Mac to sort itself out.
I got the BBOD on my Mac when I had about fifty programs up and Firefox got obsessed with a seemingly bottomless web page.

Wallyball

A game of volleyball played over a border wall, often a fortified border between countries.
I've heard they've got some pretty good wallyball games at the Mexican-American border!

A Chinese-manufactured MP3/MP4 player with a case and form factor generally to closely resembling one or more models of Apple's iPod. ChiPods are generally a fraction of the cost of Apple's iPod, have generally equivalent but inferior implementations of iPod functionality, don't accept Apple-proprietary formats, and often include supersets of iPod features like larger screens, additional audio processing features, audio recording, additional data formats, and FM radios. However, chiPods are very rarely connector-compatible with iPods and won't attach to iPod docks, opting to instead use industry-standard interfaces. (Notably, Apple's iPods are also Chinese-made--a chiPod is a player which visually bears some resemblance to an iPod.)
I just got several chiPods today. Some of them look a lot like iPods, they aren't as cool to use, but work fine.

offensive

A highly subjective interpretation of something real, imagined, or interpreted as being demeaning; very often the use of complaint to attack someone while paradoxically assuming both authority and victimhood; the use of complaint as a sociopolitical weapon or vehicle to often unmerited benefit, privilege, or compensation.
Their being offended is deeply and inheirently offensive to me! I demand you recognize my victimhood and give me what I want now!

chiPhone

One of many chinese-manufactured clones of Apple's iPhone.
The Meizu M8 and the CECT P168s are pretty nice little chiPhones, but aren't as nice as the iPhone.

Mac Stack

A physical vertical grouping of Mac Mini computers and peripherals. So named because some peripherals for the Mac Mini are designed to stack above or below the Mini and the shapes of the cases suggest vertical arrangements for convenience and good use of space.
Joe has a G4 Mini, Intel Mini, a FireWire hub, KVM, and a 250GB hard drive in a Mac Stack.
