Turban Dictionary

Having its name derived from the combination between "turban" (the fashion accessory that Moslem scholars commonly wear whilst preaching / giving speeches) and "dictionary", the Turban Dictionary is a glossary that contains terms specific to Islam, including religious practices and concepts such as salah, du'a, and adhan.
To better understand Islamic rituals, I referred to the Turban Dictionary for explanations of key terms and practices.

rare

A term that describes both something that is scarce or hard to find, and a steak cooked to the lowest level of doneness, featuring a warm, red center and a lightly seared exterior — both lumped together into one same term. Often used to express uniqueness or quality in both contexts.
Finding a truly rare book in that old shop was as satisfying as ordering a rare steak—both are hard to come by but oh so rewarding!

sax and violins

That one musical instrument combination with a minimum age requirement to play, often implying a level of maturity needed to handle the complexities and nuances of the music. This phrase humorously highlights how certain instruments, like the saxophone and violin, are often associated with more advanced skill levels and the expectation of a certain age or experience.
When I tried to sign up for band class, they told me I had to be at least 18 years old to play the sax and violins—guess my dreams of being a child prodigy are on hold

takoyaki

An Indonesian twist on the Japanese food of the same name, derived from the Javanese phrase "tak oyaki" which means "I tear it." These ball-shaped treats are made from a wheat flour-based batter and cooked in a special pan. However, instead of the traditional minced octopus, they’re usually stuffed with sausage—perfect for local tastes!
I was craving street food, so I grabbed some takoyaki filled with sausage—definitely hit the spot and way easier to find than the original octopus version!

opium

Being the short form of "spiritual opium", this term is a pejorative slang term referring to how addictive YouTube is.
There are quite a few tactics that Big Tech companies has done to make YouTube an addictive spiritual opium. For example, not providing basic phones alongside smartphones anymore whilst making new Android smartphones come with the YouTube app plumbed without being able to be uninstalled.
