An expression of disbelief. Can be used in any situation in which you can't believe something has or hasn't happened.

Ex 1-
Mary: I haven't gotten my period for 3 months....
Joseph: Oh, nuttercup!

Ex 2-
Fred: Did you hear that Rachel's dog died?
