The term “ito” in “Mosquito” implies the existence of a larger and much more terrifying “El Mosco” and or the existence of the slightly larger and unsettling “El Mosc”.

Jose: That mosquito looks fresh out of nymph stage.
Jayson: I heard that some mosquitoes can make it to their last stage called “El Mosco” .
Jose: I pray to god that we never find one.
