Sesshomaru

A character in the hit anime/manga series, InuYasha, by Rumiko Takahashi. Unlike Inuyasha, his younger half brother, Sesshomaru is a pure-blooded demon whose mother was also a demon. He can change into a beast. From his father he inherited Tenseiga, which is useless as a weapon, so he tries to claim Tetsusaiga.

Sesshomaru's companions include two dragons, a cat-sized familiar named Jaken, as well as the young girl, Rin, who Sesshomaru once revived using the Tenseiga.

Sesshomaru's name means "Destruction Man."

InuYasha

1. The hit anime/manga series by Rumiko Takahashi that focuses on a half-demon named Inuyasha and his companions as they fight to collect the shards of the Shikon no Tama (Jewel of Four Souls).

2. The main character in the hit anime/manga series by Rumiko Takahashi. Inuyasha is half-demon, half-human, and seeks control of the sacred Shikon no Tama in order to become a full-fledged demon.

"Impatient and self-centered, he was in love with Kikyo, a priestess of the Jewel."

Inuyasha has an inferiority-complex towards his older half brother (and full demon) Sesshomaru, as well as some sibling rivalry involving the sword Tetsusaiga Inuyasha inherited from their father.

The name 'Inuyasha' comes from the words 'inu', meaning dog, and 'yasha', which is a forest-spirit.
"'Inuyasha' is also a rare name." - Kappei Yamaguchi, Japanese voice of Inuyasha

The main heroine of the popular anime/manga title, InuYasha. Described by director Misahi Ikeda as "the accidental heroine", Kagome was a typical ninth-grade girl who was suddenly drawn into the Warring States period through the Bone-Eater's Well. Kagome was discovered to be the reincarnation of the great priestess, Kikyo, because of their resemblance and since the Shikon no Tama came out of her body. It is Kagome who lifts the enchantment placed on Inuyasha by Kikyo.

Since Kagome is Kikyo's reincarnation, Inuyasha counted on her to be a good archer. Her archery was awful in the beginning, but with a lot of practice she did get better at it.

Kagome, like Kikyo, begins to harbor feelings for Inuyasha, which are complicated when Urasue resurrects Kikyo. Since Inuyasha likes whichever girl he's with best, Inuyasha's bond with Kagome is often compromised when Kikyo crops up in the series. Still, Kagome follows Inuyasha and continues to aid him in the fight against Naraku.
"Inuyasha, Kikyo, and Kagome are the most important characters in the story." - Character Designer Yoshihito Hishinuma
